Company History
Samuel Dean Sheet Metal, Inc. began out of a covered wagon in 1910. The business venture of a father son duo, the company originally named “J.Dean & Son Guttering & Cisterns,” grew to become a respected provider of commercial roofing and sheet metal services in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Samuel Dean, the son in “J.Dean and Son….” eventually passed the business on to his own son Marvin Dean, who successfully operated the company over a four decade span from 1930 to 1971. In 1958, Marvin Dean hired Thomas Black. During a career spanning an incredible sixty-five years Tommy performed every job from laborer, to foreman, shop manager, estimator, vice-president and eventually president/owner. Tommy and business partner Dale Stark bought Samuel Dean in 1971, and Tommy eventually bought the business entirely in the 1980’s. Today Tommy’s three sons, Duane, Darrell and Doug along with grandson Nick Chapman, operate Samuel Dean Sheet Metal. A true family affair, the Samuel Dean staff includes family and friends Corrie Fey, Debbie Black, and Maira Laguna. Samuel Dean strives to bring family care and concern to each project we complete. We stand on 100+ years of history and our reputation ensures you receive the highest quality roofing, wall, and soffit installation!

Samuel Dean utilizes over one hundred years of commercial roofing experience to provide our customers with the highest quality roofing, wall and soffit panel installations. Our goal remains as always: to protect our customer and their property from the elements while ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
